A record coal production of 51.52 million tonnes with a growth of 3.14 percent. Also, a record overburden removal of 133.86 million cu.m. with a growth of over 0.6 percent.
Productivity in terms of out-put per man-shift (OMS) has been 10.6 as compared to 10.24 in the previous year.
Highest ever dispatch of coal of 51.2 million tonnes, registering a growth of 2.2% percent. Met the requirement of pithead Power Stations in full.
All time high turnover of Rs 4546.86 crores, up by 4.35 percent over previous year.
With a profit before tax (PBT) of Rs 2116.26 crores, NCL maintained its position as the top profit earning subsidiary company of Coal India Ltd.
Environment management and pollution control continued to be the thrust area. Since 1986 till 2005-06, about 18.7 million trees have been planted by NCL in and around its mining projects besides those planted under the compensatory afforestation schemes.
Workers Participation in Management, Better Industrial Relations, Employees Welfare, Community Development and HRD continued to be the other thrust areas.
